House dust from floors ends up in Puget Sound

Erika Schreder, lead study author and staff scientist of Washington Toxics Coalition, demonstrates how researchers used a vacuum to collect samples of house dust. She demonstrated at a press conference at the Seattle home of Steven Gilbert, director/founder, Institute of Neurotoxicology and Neurological Disorders. Regarding toxins in dust, he said: "I have a granddaughter. How do I protect her from all this stuff?" (Photo by Grant M. Haller)
